How to Set Up Slack Notifications

Get real-time alerts in Slack when Trigify finds posts that match your criteria. This guide walks you through connecting Slack and setting up smart notifications that keep your team informed without the noise.

Connecting Slack to Trigify

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Find Slack and click Connect
  3. Authorize Trigify to access your Slack workspace
  4. Select the default channel (you can change this per workflow)

Adding Slack to a Workflow

  1. Create or edit a workflow
  2. Add a new node and select Slack
  3. Choose the channel you want notifications sent to
  4. Customize the message template

Customizing Notification Messages

Use Trigify variables to build rich, informative Slack messages. Example template:

New {{post.platform}} post detected!Author: {{post.author.name}}Content: {{post.content}}Link: {{post.url}}

Use the variable picker to insert any available data point into your message.

Choosing the Right Channel

Consider setting up dedicated channels for different signal types:

  • #trigify-leads - High-intent posts from ICP matches
  • #trigify-competitors - Competitor mentions and complaints
  • #trigify-industry - General industry conversations

This keeps signals organized and makes sure the right people see the right posts.

Reducing Noise

The biggest mistake with Slack notifications: sending everything to one channel. Your team will mute it within a week.

Instead:

  • Add an Agent node before Slack to filter for relevance and quality
  • Use IF conditions to route different signal types to different channels
  • Be selective - only notify on posts that actually require attention
